The $400,000 Queensland Oaks will be run under sunny skies in Brisbane tomorrow, with the track expected to be on the better side of dead.
As the market would suggest, there are numerous winning chances and plenty of value for your punting dollar. The Doomben Roses is usually a sound guide to the Oaks and if that's the case this year Sydney filly Purple will take plenting of beating. She went around in the middle of the track and was still closing nicely at the finish, giving the impression that 2400 metres is well within her capabilities.

Tomorrow's charity bet
Each week the Smartbet Club places a free $50 bet for charity on its best bet of the day around Australia. We're now punting for a new cause, details of which will appear in the Friday Alert shortly.
We were right off the mark with the disappointing Thorn Lake last week - so our charity bank balance remains $250.00. Ortensia (Eagle Farm Race 7) is our best bet of the day tomorrow.
